About MC Printing 3D

My name is Mike Caldwell and the journey into 3D printing marks an exciting new creative chapter in my life. After years of working as a photographer and web developer, I’ve always been drawn to technology and visual design—fields where art and precision meet. That same fascination naturally led me to explore 3D printing, a medium that transforms digital concepts into tangible objects. The idea of designing and fabricating my own tools, camera accessories, and artistic pieces sparked a new kind of curiosity and inspiration. It feels like the perfect next step in combining creativity with technology in a hands-on way.

For my first printer, I chose the Creality K2 Plus, a model known for its reliability, large print area, and user-friendly setup. As a beginner, I wanted a printer that could grow with me—something easy enough to start learning on but powerful enough to handle advanced projects later. Setting it up for the first time was both exciting and humbling, as I began to understand how every layer of filament builds into a finished creation. Watching that first print take shape was a moment of genuine satisfaction—it reminded me of the feeling I had when I developed my first photograph or launched my first website.

Living in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, I’m surrounded by a community that values craftsmanship and innovation, which makes this new venture even more meaningful. I’m already envisioning ways to merge my background in photography and web design with 3D printing—whether that’s creating custom mounts, lighting tools, or even showcasing digital art in physical form. This is just the start of my 3D printing journey, but I’m eager to keep learning, experimenting, and sharing what I create along the way.
